Have you ever looked at a long English word and felt a little lost?

Don't worry, you are not alone!

Many English words are built like LEGOs: they are made of smaller pieces.

By learning to recognise these pieces, you can understand many new words without needing a dictionary. This article will help you understand two very important parts of words: prefixes and suffixes.

Think of a word like a person. The main part of the word is the body, and the prefixes and suffixes are like the arms and legs. They are attached to the body to change how it works or what it means.
