Turn Every Negotiation into a Partnership
Because the best deals happen when nobody loses.
You want the project delivered by Friday. Your client wants it by next Wednesday.
You want a 10% budget increase. Your manager will only approve 5%.
You want to work from home three days a week. Your company says one.
What do you do?
You could fight for exactly what you want. You could give up and accept what you’re offered. But there’s a third option. The option that builds relationships, closes deals, and keeps everyone moving forward.
This week’s expression is: “to meet someone halfway.”
What does it mean?
To meet someone halfway means to compromise. You give up part of what you want, and the other person does the same, so that both sides are satisfied.
It’s not about winning. It’s not about losing. It’s about finding the point in the middle where both people can say: “I can work with that.”
This is one of the most important skills in professional life, and English has a beautifully simple expression for it.
