We all know "this," "that," "these," and "those" as words that point to things – demonstrations.
"This" cat, "that" dog, "these" shoes, "those" birds.
Simple, right?
But did you know these seemingly innocent words can also subtly communicate your attitude, sometimes even your confidence, towards what you're talking about?
Think of it this way: Beyond just showing where something is (close or far), these words can show how you feel about it. They can signal whether you’re positive and close to an idea, or more detached and even critical.
It's a powerful, yet often overlooked, way to add flavour to your English!
