Have you ever found yourself asked a question and you just don't know the answer?

Or maybe someone is trying to tell you something you couldn't care less about?

How do you express that feeling of "I don't know" or "I don't really care" without saying a word?

You probably just lift your shoulders and drop them. It’s a simple action, but it says a lot, doesn't it?


The Verb, the Noun, and the Phrasal Verb

Think of it this way: To shrug is a versatile word that can be a verb, a noun, and even part of a phrasal verb. The main idea behind all of them is to show indifference, doubt, or a lack of knowledge.
